Why i Chose traveling

One of the aspects of my travels around the world and changing my place of residence every few months is that I meet new people again and again. Still, the questions during most of these meetings remain the same: What made you travel? Where will you continue? How do you finance all this? Aren’t you missing home? And so on.

The world is a big and beautiful place and I noticed that I would never see it if I was on vacation only once or twice a year. That’s why I decided to give up everything and go around the world. This gives me more time to explore places in depth and get to know the people, culture, history, politics and society in one place.

No. It’s so exciting. I feel like a constant celebration of my life because I’ve never been in one place long enough to overcome the first phase of excitement you feel when you move to a new neighborhood and start discovering it.

Traveling is much easier if you are not attached to physical things (material). With each step, I get rid of more and more things. My goal is to fit everything I need in a bag and go on a trip.

Error! I have a few euros in my bank account and that’s it.

If you ever meet me, just look at my worn shoes, my dirty second-hand clothes or my old phone and you’ll believe me.

This is the question I am most often asked. How I do it:

  • I have been working for several months

  • My goal is to finance my travels by writing about them, selling postcards, photos and other materials. Yes, I am a dreamer.

  • I spend less than I earn.

  • Everything in life is a matter of priorities. I don’t buy useless things like modern phones, new computers, cars or more clothes than I need. That way I have a lot more money to travel.

  • The less you spend, the less you will work, the more time you will have. I value time more than money.

  • Before each trip I receive gratuitous donations

As long as I like it. Once I have no more fun, I will change my life again. But I will cross this bridge when I get there.

I am shocked at how many people are not doing something now because they are afraid that they will not be happy in the future. Why don’t we just die right now!? A Little About Me

Professional traveler traveling the world in search of unique locations for photography and sound recording.
Hello, my name is Jacob Riley. For ten years I have been traveling the world to photograph the unique places I visit. As I cycle or walk around I see and hear unique things that I record with my camera and microphones. In my library of sounds you will find both natural sounds and many others that I create while on the road. My photography portfolio is mostly landscapes, but I also create others that touch my heart.
