Cooking Gear

I’ve been camping by bike or foot for 15 years and cook most of my own food. I love to pack fresh, healthy food while traveling and enjoy cooking in a new place. This page lists the basic camping gear I use when traveling.

Gas Cooking Stove

PRIMUS – Mimer Stove

Whenever I’m on the road, I take my gas stove with me to make coffee in the morning or to cook in the evening after a long hike during the day. The stove is small, light and compact and does not take up space in bags.

Pots and Pans

Stainless steel camping cook set mh500 – 1.1

This has been my go-to cookware for several years. It is extremely light and compact and works well when I travel alone with my bike.

Mugs

Ever since my first travels, I have been using steel mugs of different capacities, which I use to boil coffee or tea or just to brew something warm. For me, these cups are comfortable, lightweight, and durable for extended use.

Kitchen Utensils

Along with the mx100 kit (pot), which has light cutlery, I also use a compact camping kit which has everything needed for one meal.

A Little About Me

Professional traveler traveling the world in search of unique locations for photography and sound recording.
Hello, my name is Jacob Riley. For ten years I have been traveling the world to photograph the unique places I visit. As I cycle or walk around I see and hear unique things that I record with my camera and microphones. In my library of sounds you will find both natural sounds and many others that I create while on the road. My photography portfolio is mostly landscapes, but I also create others that touch my heart.
